Chattanooga is home to more than 600 refugees from more than 10 counties. And a local agency will highlight their inspiring journeys at a commemoration of the United Nationsâ World Refugee Day on Monday.
Bridge Refugee Services will host an open house at the H*Art Gallery on East Main Street from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. The family-friendly event will include ethnic food, refugee advocacy information, a silent auction to benefit Bridge and an art station for children. Artwork by local refugees will also be featured, according to Marina Peshterianu, coordinator for Bridge.
